1. How long does backsplash installation take?
Most backsplash installations are completed in 1–2 days, depending on tile type, layout complexity, and whether an existing backsplash needs to be removed. More detailed patterns or natural stone may take slightly longer.
2. Can you install a backsplash with tile I already purchased?
Yes. Many homeowners purchase their own tile, and we’re happy to install it. We’ll review the tile beforehand to confirm it’s suitable for backsplash installation and discuss layout and grout options.
3. Do you remove old backsplashes?
Yes. If there is an existing backsplash, we can remove it, prep the surface, and install the new tile to ensure a clean and long-lasting result.
4. What type of tile is best for a kitchen backsplash?
Popular options include ceramic, porcelain, subway tile, marble, and mosaic tile. The best choice depends on your style preferences, maintenance needs, and budget. We can help guide you during the estimate.
5. Do backsplashes need to be sealed?
Some tile types, such as natural stone and certain grout lines, do require sealing for moisture and stain protection. Ceramic and porcelain tiles typically do not. We’ll let you know what’s recommended for your specific tile.
6. How high should a backsplash be installed?
Most backsplashes are installed from the countertop to the bottom of the upper cabinets. However, some designs extend to the ceiling or behind the range for a more dramatic look.
7. Will a backsplash increase home value?
Yes. A professionally installed backsplash improves both function and visual appeal, which can positively impact resale value and make kitchens more attractive to buyers.
