Payment Terms & Project Policies

At Everything Knoxville Handyman & Remodeling, we aim to keep every project clear, professional, and straightforward from start to finish. These payment terms apply to residential and service-based projects unless different written terms are agreed upon before work begins.

Payment Due Upon Completion

Payment is due immediately upon completion of the approved scope of work unless otherwise stated in writing.

For smaller residential, handyman, repair, installation, and turnkey projects, we do not operate on automatic Net 15, Net 30, or delayed payment terms unless those terms are approved in writing before the project begins.

Turnkey Pricing

Most of our projects are quoted as turnkey/lump-sum projects. This means the quoted price includes the agreed scope of work, labor, standard materials, project coordination, setup, cleanup, tools, transportation, and business overhead.

Turnkey pricing is not the same as cost-plus billing. Supplier receipts, labor breakdowns, and internal cost records are not typically provided unless the project was specifically agreed to as cost-plus in writing.

Deposits & Material Purchases

Depending on the size and type of project, a deposit may be required before scheduling or purchasing materials. Custom materials, special-order items, and large material purchases may require partial or full material payment upfront.

Project Completion

A project is considered substantially complete when the originally approved scope of work has been completed, even if the client later requests additional work, upgrades, changes, or cosmetic revisions outside the original scope.

Additional requests after the approved scope may be priced separately as change orders.

Change Orders & Additional Work

Any work requested outside the original approved scope may require additional pricing and approval before proceeding. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Additional repairs not shown or discussed during the walkthrough

  • Upgraded materials

  • Expanded work areas

  • Rework due to preference changes

  • Additional painting, blending, or finish work outside the original scope

  • Concealed damage discovered after work begins

Paint, Blending & Finish Expectations

We make every reasonable effort to provide clean, professional results. However, exact paint matching, texture matching, and seamless blending can be affected by age, lighting, sheen, prior repairs, existing surface condition, and whether the original paint is available.

Spot repairs and limited-area repainting may still show some variation. Full repainting of larger sections may be required for the most uniform finish and may be priced separately unless already included in the approved scope.

Late Payments

Invoices not paid by the due date may be subject to late fees, administrative fees, collection costs, or other remedies available by law. We prefer to resolve balances directly and professionally before any formal collection steps are considered.

Everything Knoxville Handyman & Remodeling’s standard late fee process begins one week after an invoice remains unpaid with no agreed-upon payment arrangement or scheduled resolution.

For most projects over $1,000, the initial late fee typically ranges from $50–$100, depending on the project size, balance owed, and length of delay. After the initial late fee, unresolved balances may continue to accrue additional late fees of $25–$500 per week until the account is brought current or a written payment arrangement is made.

Disputes or Concerns

If there is a concern with completed work, clients should notify us promptly and identify the specific item from the approved scope that needs review. Concerns related to additional requested work, upgrades, or scope changes will be handled separately from the original completed scope.

Agreement

By approving an estimate, scheduling work, allowing work to begin, or accepting completed services, the client agrees to the approved scope of work and applicable payment terms unless otherwise stated in writing.
